| FORD HEIGHTS is a great
place to live, work and raise a family. Ford Heights, formally
known as East Chicago Heights, has a proud history, which begins
back in the pre-Civil War years, the area has been a stop on the
Underground Railroad, through which slaves moved from the South
to Iowa and Canada. In the early 1920, black American families;
settled in the area joining a small number of existing white farmers,
and was incorporated as a Village in 1949. Our lifestyle
is a blend of rural and urban influences, located just 10 miles
south of the City of Chicago’s southern border. |
